The Administrative Team

Petria Gonzales, EdD

Principal

It is my honor to serve as the Principal of John F. Kennedy Middle College High School. This will be my 17th year in education; working both at the middle school and high school level – spending the majority of my time at three comprehensive high schools, focusing on instruction and building school culture.

As the year progresses, our goal is to equip young minds for the future, build a community of collaboration and enhance the school culture at this phenomenal school. We want JFK to be a place where every student belongs and wants to call “home.”

LeRoy Welch

Asst. Principal

I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of this school, and I feel privileged to be able to work here. When I arrive in the morning, I see teenagers who want to be at school. Walking the halls during the day, students say hello or stop me to talk (not a typical experience for an assistant principal!) The classes are dynamic, with teachers who strive to present engaging, informative lessons, and students who have a genuine interest for what they are learning. At any point during the day, students are coming from NC or going to their college classes, and their excitement is infectious.

Erin Cole

Dean of Students

I am so excited to be a part of the Timberwolf family this year!! I have enjoyed getting to know the students and staff and am so impressed with all of the amazing things that happen on this campus - from the great lessons taught in the classrooms to the incredible activities put on by the various clubs on campus. There truly is "something for everyone" at JFK, and I am blessed to be able to work with such a caring, compassionate, accepting group of students and staff!

Lacy Carson

Counselor

Our students are great. They show maturity and respect for each other and the staff, but they're still kids and have the enthusiasm of high school students. Being a counselor here means building relationships with the students where I am viewed as support for all of their needs; both academic and social.  Kennedy Middle College shows what can happen when you mix dynamic educational opportunities with great students and a passionate, skilled faculty. It's a terrific place for both the students and staff.
